In a recent visit to the United Kingdom, Bruno Berner had the opportunity to cast his eyes over the facilities and training methods delivered to young players at English Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur.
Bruno, alongside FC Zurich’s Under-15 assistant coach Tim Künzler, gained an insight into one of England’s top football clubs, whose academy has recently seen players including striker Harry Kane and Nabil Bentaleb break into the first team at White Hart Lane.
Whilst at Tottenham’s training facility, Bruno and Tim observed the training sessions ran for the club’s Under-9s, Under-10s and Under-11s, in addition to exchanging thoughts and philosophies with Spurs’ Academy Performance Manager, Dean Rastrick, and Gary Broadhurst, the club’s Foundation Phase Coach for Under-6 through to Under-11.
Bruno also had the chance to catch up with an old friend whilst at Spurs Lodge, meeting up with former Blackburn Rovers team-mate Brad Friedel (top image).
Following his time with Tottenham, Bruno and Tim had the opportunity to attend the Premier League match between Fulham and Norwich City. After the game, Bruno had the chance to meet up with Fulham’s manager, Felix Magath (below).
Prior to his arrival in London, Bruno visited his former club, Leicester City.
Catching up with old friends at Leicester, Bruno congratulated the team on achieving promotion to the Premier League, before speaking to members of the local media about a number of subjects, including the current Leicester City side, his memories of playing for the Foxes and his progress coaching at FA Zurich.
