Bruno Berner guided his SC Kriens side to a remarkable victory over Aarau in the Swiss Challenge League on Wednesday 8 July, as the amateur outfit continues to compete against the division’s professional outfits.
In what has been an impressive campaign in the Swiss second tier to date, Kriens’ current fourth position in the league was maintained with an emphatic 4-1 home victory over Aarau.
Boasting an estimated budget eight-times more than Berner’s SC Kriens, Aarau have publically indicated that promotion to the Swiss Super League is their target.
However, despite only having 12 outfield players and two goalkeepers available to him on the night, Berner and his players masterminded a memorable victory, which keeps Kriens’ potential of a place in the promotion play-offs very much alive.
