F.C. Tuggen manager and former Swiss international full-back Bruno Berner took a break from coaching his Promotion League side to feature on Tuesday (7 March) evening’s edition of Teleclub Sport’s Extratime.
The main topic of conversation for Bruno and the panel on Tuesday night’s show was the fortunes of FC Lausanne, managed by Berner’s former international team-mate Fabio Celestini. FC Lausanne have lose their last 13 games; 10 of which by a one-goal margin. The panel discussed ways in which Celestini’s fortunes could improve, and questioned whether he was the right man to secure Lausanne’s Swiss Super League status for another season.
Also discussed on the show was the defeat suffered by Young Boys Bern at the hands of FC Winterthur of the Challenge League. After taking a 2-0 lead, Young Boys were defeated 3-2 after extra time and knocked out of the League Cup. With it being nearly 30 years since Young Boys’ last title, Bruno and the panel debated what has gone wrong yet again for the club.
Finally, focus shifted to Bayer Levekusen’s sacking of Roger Schmidt and whether the German side was right to dismiss their head coach.
